Fiction Uncovered is a promotion that celebrates our best British fiction writers. The promotion is supported by Arts Council England and funded by the National Lottery. Fiction Uncovered creates the opportunity for eight British fiction writers (novels, short stories, graphic novels) to be part of a major promotion supported by retailers, and a publicity and marketing campaign. The eight titles for this year’s Fiction Uncovered 2013 will be selected by a judging panel chaired by Louise Doughty, and will be announced on 16th May 2013.
Fiction Uncovered also hosts a community website, which gives these eight selected writers – and an even broader group of writers through recommendation and endorsement – a chance to reach readers. The website also encourages contributors to uncover lost or forgotten fiction as well as new fiction.More from Fiction Uncovered
New Books Magazine
newbooks, a bi-monthly magazine aimed at readers and reading groups, was first published in 2000. From the start the magazine has been a remarkable success, and with its genuinely unique selling proposition – the offer of free copies of each of the featured titles every issue* – newbooks has become a firm favourite with readers far and wide.
Having worked in publishing for over 20 years, publisher Guy Pringle recognised at the outset the growing influence of reading groups and the power of word-of-mouth recommendation in breaking new writing talent into the marketplace.
